SBTC-Director of Convention Strategies
In his role he works with churches in need of revitalization, coordinates Cooperative Program strategies, and assists the convention in marketing and promotion. He has served the SBTC since August of 2008 as an Associate in Church Ministries, Team Leader for Leadership Ministries and now his current responsibilities. Kenneth graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with degrees in Education and Theology and is a doctoral candidate for a Doctor of Educational Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He has been married to his wife Debbi since 1993 and they live in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
SBTC associate in the Church Ministries Department-women/children
Emily Smith serves as an SBTC associate in the Church Ministries Department, assisting church leaders in the areas of women and children. Emily is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has worked for Family Life Publishing and Exclaim Entertainment, the creator of BOZ the Green Bear. She also served as a Children’s Minister in Arkansas. Emily has a passion for ministering to kids and their families.
SBTC associate- Church Ministries Department-music/worship/Tech
Lance serves the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention as an associate in the Church Ministries Department in the area of Music and Worship Technology. Prior to this position, he was the head of the music program at Northwest Christian University. Lance has served the local church as a staff member and itinerant worship leader for over 16 years. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University, holding a BM and MM in classical guitar performance, and is a doctoral candidate at Boston University. Lance is the author of the best-selling, The Capo Chord Book, published by Mel Bay Publications, and is a Hill Guitar Co. artist.
SBC of Virginia - Student/College
Steve Maltempi is a native of Louisiana where he met his wife, Joy. They have been married for 30 years. They have four children ranging in ages from 16 – 25.
Steve received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Louisiana Tech University, Master's Degree in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Doctorate from Oxford Graduate School. He has 23 years of youth ministry experience in Louisiana and Virginia in local churches. Steve joined the SBC of Virginia staff as Student Ministry Strategist in May 2008. Steve’s passion and life calling have been to Student Ministry. Steve has spoken at national, state and local events such as Youth Leader’s Summit in Orlando, leadership training events, preaching to teens and college students, leading DiscipleNow’s and retreats. His heart’s desire is to serve collegiate and student pastors as they impact the lives of students.
Executive Director of KiDs Beach Clubs®,
Cindy Leach is the Executive Director of KiDs Beach Clubs®, a non-profit ministry partnering with local churches to provide Bible clubs for 3rd -6th graders in their public schools. She firmly believes that God’s Word has the power to change lives and has a passion for accurately and effectively presenting God’s Word to kids. Cindy has eighteen years of experience serving on church staff as a Minister to Children, most recently at North Richland Hills Baptist Church. Cindy has been married to Jason for 23 years and they have two college daughters, Melissa and Carrie.
